Senior Year
It’s my last year here at Lindsay High School, The past years have gone fairly quick. Throughout my 3 years I have managed to pass all my classes except for one. My senior year has been ok I have two classes that I am struggling In; However, I will try my hardest to succeed. The only class I am behind In Is economics, I have put a lot of effort but It Is just to time consuming and difficult.
Currently I am trying to get my job shadow done. I have got my community hours in all I need Is my website, job shadow, and my exit interview; However I will try my best. The most exciting thing about my senior year is that there are many fun events that only we can attend; however my classes are stressing me out.
This year my main goal is to pass seven out of seven classes. I am going to try to pass at least four class with level four to get a better chance of getting accepted into college. My life goal is to get at least my bachelors In engineering I am going to try to get into Cal-Poly to get into the program PLTW (Project Lead The Way). My career goal is to work for PLTW as a robotic engineer or be a engineer teacher for IED (Intro to Engineering Design) or POE (Principles Of Engineering).
If I don’t get accepted Into Cal-Poly my back up plan is to go to UTI for gasoline automotive repair, I have a big interest in repairing cars. I have taken all the auto courses available here in Lindsay High School. Every year a guy from UTI comes talks to the seniors taking the auto programs and helps them get into UTI If they are interested. They also offer diesel repair, nascar, motorcycle, and boat repair.
Halfway through semester
Since my last journal I have managed to stay on pace on six out of seven although not too far behind. by the end of semester I should be on pace for seven out of seven. Also by the end of semester I want to try to complete my senior project which includes job shadow 4 journals, 20 hours, and my website and all I need is job shadow and 2 journals.
My main struggle is keeping my web site up to date with all my assignments and my job shadow. One thing I am enjoying is all my classes are full with a lot of people I know also most are very easy and fun. On the other hand one thing I don't like is going way too fast. I have found myself spending more time studying out of school to pass all my test the first time rather than taking it twice also doing all my work to get caught up and graduate.
One thing that I need to get better at is presenting because I have to do my senior exit exam in six months, another bad thing is that the teachers don’t push us to present so we don’t get the chance to practice presenting too much however I have presented in the city hall at a city hall council meeting. One main thing that make me feel like time is flying is getting accepted to college. So far I have got accepted to UTI, Yo-tec and just waiting to hear from fresno state. My first choice is fresno where I would go for engineer and if I get into UTI and Yo-tec I am going for auto diesel program.
With our new program flex time it allows me go to a class I am not passing or a class I want to get ahead. flex time allowed me to catch up on econ and chemistry. also another good program is redzone which takes place after school in which you can stay after school till 6 and get help. this program has helped me in every way math, english, econ, chem, and even auto. There are four people who go around checking that you are doing your work and if you need help they will pull up a chair and help. Over all it has been a fun time here at LHS with all my friends and family and all the great teachers who are very good at teaching.
My Last Semester
Winter break was very stressful knowing when I get back I had two weeks to finish all my classes to be on pace. My pacing at semester was six out of seven classes. The only class I didn’t pass was Econ, Which is needed to graduate. All I need is a three page project make up and a EOT.
One thing I regret doing last semester in not getting level four’s to boost up my GPA to have a better chance of getting into college. It hasn’t hit me that we only have four months left. As of college I am already enrolled to start at UTI on July twenty-fifth.
The only things I have to do is my job shadow in which I have already set up. Also my senior exit interview. Due to my attendance I can’t walk at graduation unless I appeal. My parents know that I don’t want to walk and they don’t like the idea, so I am going to try to appeal and surprise them by having my sister take them to the ceremony.
After high school and college I plan to open my own car shop where people can take their car and not get completely ripped off. Also I want my shop to be pretty fast, but get the job done good. Also I would like to have a 24 hour emergency line where people can call and get roadside assistance and get there car fixed or towed. On the other hand, people can also bring in their cars to the shop to get them boosted such as turbocharged, supercharged and even put Nos.
My plan is to go to UTI for auto-diesel and my two electives will be chevy and porsche. I would need about two hundred thousand to open my open shop including tools lifts and all diagnostic equipment.
Almost the End
In four months I will never have to step inside a school in my life again, but My choice is to go to sacramento and attend UTI. With graduation coming soon I am starting to get nervous. The main thing I am stressing is my exit interview, I am hoping that I will pass on my first attempt. At this point
I am pretty much finished with all my senior requirements.
One main step that I have token for post graduation was going to UTI last saturday for financial aid. I am Enrolled to start UTI July 25, 2016 for Auto Diesel. After I finish my auto diesel course I am planing to go to Phoenix Arizona for chevy and for Porsche. If I go for porsche, porsche will pay for my class and forsure me a job with a incentive. My choices of incentive are ten thousand dollars of tools or five thousand cash. Of these two choices I would pick the tools because when I open my shop that ten thousand dollars less I got to spend.
There are many things that I am looking back to about my senior year. The main regret I have is not applying to fresno and other college. Also not taking the time to do more level four’s and ap classes. There are also many thing that I would never go back to change.Such as my Friends and my class choices.
Throught all my high school experience I have never failed a class. Also I have finished three career pathways, Engineering, Wood Products, and Auto.
I was able to finnish wood products and engineering by my sophomore year. Intro to industrial art consist of two semesters half auto engineer and half wood. So I decided I would enrolled into engineering and wood products. For engineering my freshmen year i enrolled intro to industrial art and IED (intro to the design process) and then POE (principle of engineering)and finish my pathway by my sophomore year. For wood products I had industrial arts freshmen year and so then I had wood one my sophomore which only took me one semester so I enrolled into wood two second semester and was also able to finish by the end of my sophomore year.
