For my job shadow I went to Woodlake transmissions and interviewed Luis. Luis is a transmission specialist but also knows a lot about engines too. I choose this job field because It is one of the best places for the same field I am interested in.
During my Job Shadow I had a blast, he had me helping him tear apart a transmission and showing the parts that normally go bad on them. He also gave me a lot of information about my cars transmission because mine went out. Over all I found out many interesting thing about a transmission I didn’t know when I walked in.
One thing I learned is how a transmission works with all the clutch packs torque converter and the main thing the shift solenoids. If one solenoid goes out it will send a signal that the solenoid is out and lock up the transmission entail it is replaced. Also he told told me that you can cut the spring on the shift solenoids and make the car shift better and go faster.
In conclusion I am still interested in this field because I have a very big passion for working on cars and engines. The best part of the job is seeing the people get happy when they get it back. Also I feel like I succeeded to do good things for the people of my community.
